Famlok ("we", "our", "us") is a family GPS safety application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

• Account Information: Name, email address, and profile photo (via Google Sign-In)
• Location Data: Real-time GPS location, shared only with your family circle members
• Device Information: Device identifier for single-device login security
• Driving Data: Speed, route, and driving events (when drive tracking is active)
• Places Data: Saved locations like home, school, or work that you create

3. How We Use Your Information

• Share your real-time location with your chosen family circle members
• Send arrival and departure notifications for saved places
• Provide driving safety monitoring and trip history
• Deliver emergency SOS alerts with your location to circle members
• Send quick messages between family members
• Enforce single-device login for account security

4. Data Sharing

Your location and personal data are shared only with members of your family circles that you choose to join. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following services to operate the app:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud messaging, and analytics
• Mapbox: Map display and satellite imagery
• Cloudinary: Profile photo storage

5. Data Security

• Device identifiers are encrypted using secure storage
• Authentication is handled through Google Sign-In
• Single-device enforcement prevents unauthorized access
• Firebase security rules restrict data access to authorized users only

6. Data Retention

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. Location data is updated in real-time and previous locations are not stored long-term. Driving history is retained until you delete it. You can delete your account at any time, which will remove your data from our systems.

7. Your Rights

• Access your personal data at any time through the app
• Update or correct your profile information
• Leave any family circle to stop sharing your location with that group
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Control location sharing (enable/disable at any time)

8. Children's Privacy

Famlok is designed as a family safety app. Children under 13 should only use the app under parental supervision and with a parent's account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

9. Location Permissions

Famlok requires location permissions to function. The app uses background location access to share your location with family members even when the app is not in the foreground. You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, but this will limit the app's functionality.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
